Lynsey Sweeney to speak at the People’s Powerhouse Convention

GUAC’s managing director, Lynsey Sweeney is heading to Bradford on 20 November to speak at the People’s Powerhouse’s 2018 Convention, at the Northern Commercial Stadium.

The “People are the Powerhouse” is a new movement intended to help shape the debate around the Northern Powerhouse, and to ensure that people and communities are at the heart of the Powerhouse plans, not the periphery.

Lynsey will discuss the relationship and interplay between having both a home and a job. She will also champion the works of housing associations regarding their tenants’ employment. She plans to share the ideas of how to get closer to communities and the importance of partnerships.

The impressive list of speakers at this convention also includes Andy Burnham (Mayor of Manchester), Tony Walsh (respected poet also known as Longfella) and leaders of local authorities and leading organisations from the sector.

You can book your tickets and get more information here. The event also incorporates innovative workshops and informative breakout sessions as well.
