The workless-ness agenda was a key topic of discussion when GUAC members met with Esther McVey MP, Minister for Housing.

The meeting was attended by GUAC members Kate Shone and Reena Mukherji along with GUAC partner Dave Simmonds, CEO of Inclusion.

The Minister was advised about the range of initiatives GUAC members undertake to help customers find work as well as social landlords

Kate and Reena made the case for greater involvement for Social Landlords when considering new employment ideas. GUAC will be following up this meeting with officials from the Department of Work and Pensions.

GUAC regularly engages with Government and opposition parties to discuss policy matters around the employment and skills agenda.
