GUAC and DWP meet to discuss employment support

GUAC members met with DWP Officials in Sheffield to discuss how Housing Associations could help deliver better service integration with future employment support programmes.

GUAC members explained how many Housing Associations wanted a more shared approach with Employment Providers as we are often all working with the same customer group, and that to improve service integration on the ground would help more people to find sustainable jobs.  GUAC has been asked to form a reference group for DWP officials to work on how service integration can be realised across our communities.

Jayne Entwistle, Head of Social Investment at Great Places and Director of GUAC said “the meeting was a positive discussion and we felt that DWP colleagues were listening and taking note of our feedback about what we could offer as key partners to employment support programmes.”
