Great Places joins GUAC

Based in the North West of England, Great Places Housing Group is the latest organisation to join Give Us A Chance (GUAC).

The housing association provides quality, affordable social and supported housing across the north west and Yorkshire.

More than just a landlord, Great Places aims to build successful, sustainable neighbourhoods and runs numerous schemes to help supports its residents’ ambitions, such as education and training opportunities and financial advice.

Jayne Entwistle, social investment manager at Great Places, said of the new membership: “Great Places is proud to have become a member of the Give Us A Chance consortium and we look forward to working together over the coming year for the benefit of our customers and the communities which we serve”.

GUAC chair Kate Shone said, “Great Paces are a fantastic organisation. They take a creative approach to their work and are forward thinking in the best ways to support their customers. Their membership, insight and ideas will be a huge asset to the organisation and our other members.”

Great Places won several awards in 2014 including:

  • Affordable Housing Provider of the Year – First Time Buyer ReadersAwards 2014,
  • Best Regeneration Project (Fallowfield Triangle) – First Time Buyer ReadersAwards 2014 and
  • TOP 50 AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS, Palmerston Street – Inside Housing 2014.
