Golden Gates Housing Trust joins GUAC

Warrington based Golden Gates was established in 2010 after a stock transfer from the Borough Council and now manages 8,600 homes in the local area.

Golden Gates provides an extensive selection of opportunities to help residents find work opportunities, from weekly job clubs which offer expert advice and job searching support to their pre-employment training which offers free training to help residents who have a job in mind but don’t have the qualifications needed.

The organisation offer apprenticeships for younger residents in Business Admin, Housing Management and Property Services as well as supporting residents who want to be their own boss, with their Enterprise Hub programme.

They describe their role as a landlord, “We believe our role goes way beyond traditional bricks and mortar and we are committed to investing in our communities and providing the opportunities and support to help our tenants achieve their ambitions and improve their lives.”

Ian Simpson, Chair of GUAC said, “It’s fantastic to see Golden Gates become a member, they are a small but mighty organisation who have made a real difference in the communities they work in. I’m looking forward to learning more about them from their team and finding out how they have designed their back to work programmes.”

The Trust has won a number of awards and has twice been listed in The Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit Best Companies To Work For in 2013 and 2014.
