Genesis sign up to Give us a Chance
Genesis Housing Association, has become the latest housing organisation to take up membership of GUAC, the leading consortium of social landlords in the employment and skills sector.
As one of the UK’s leading housing associations, Genesis own or manage around 33,000 homes across London and the east of England, and has a leading role to play in supporting social housing tenants into work.
Genesis provides a range of employment, enterprise and training support through their partners and commissioned services. In 2015/ 16 Genesis helped 183 people into employment, 41 new apprenticeship opportunities, 12 new business start-ups, 47 work experience placements and provided training to a further 719 residents over the same period.
Commenting on the arrival of the latest member, Chair of GUAC, Ian Simpson, said: “With Genesis joining GUAC, it helps to push forward the consortium’s role in enabling housing providers to support people into employment. We’re delighted to welcome Genesis on board”.
