A Ministerial Visit to One Housing’s Employment Scheme

We’re delighted to share some news from Give us a Chance (GUAC) member, One Housing. Last month, One Housing welcomed Will Quince MP (Con, Colchester) to their employment and training centre, One Academy.

The Minister for Family Support, Housing and Child Maintenance at the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) paid a visit to the employment team who has supported over 250 people into work last year through a wide range of programmes such as 1-1 support, training sessions and creative programmes to build skills and confidence.

The event was followed by a visit to Arlington House, the largest mixed-use hostel in the UK, owned and managed by One Housing.

As well as providing shelter for homeless people, Arlington House also features a modern employment and training centre equipped with commercial space and a conference venue.
