OCR and GUAC – Working together to help bridge the digital divide

Did you know…?

  • The government is allocating £1.8 billion to making its services ‘Digital by Default’.
  • Technology reaches into all aspects of our lives including banking, health, fitness, shopping and socialising.
  • But it’s estimated that 9.5 million lack the minimum digital skills needed to live in this environment.
  • 4 million of these excluded come from disadvantaged groups.

Yet these groups need to complete social housing bids, apply for jobs on-line, and Universal Credit will be an on-line service.

How do these individuals get the right access, skills motivation and trust to confidently go online?

OCR-logoOCR and GUAC invite you to an online Digital Employability event via WebEx on Tuesday 19 July at 11am. Hosted by Ruth Carter – OCR Sector Specialist for Employability, the event will focus on the current climate and individuals needs along with supporting you and your clients through the new Digital Employability qualification suite. To register your place please contact Kiran.Kaur@ocr.org.uk
