GUAC 2015 Annual Reception
Give us a Chance members came together this week to celebrate our greatest year yet at the Annual Reception, hosted by Peter Aldous MP on the Terrace Pavilion – a great venue at the heart of the House of Commons, overlooking the Thames.

Over 150 guests heard our principal guest speaker, Lord Freud, Minister of State for Welfare Reform, endorse the valuable role that GUAC members play across the housing sector in supporting more people into work, towards the goal of full employment. Peter Aldous MP recognised the growth in GUAC membership to 49 organisations and was pleased to announce that this year’s reception was the biggest yet, held in the Commons’ most prestigious venue.

Kirsty McHugh, CEO of ERSA and key partner of GUAC endorsed our work further and emphasised the value and power of partnerships. Our three special guests were introduced by Alex Stevenson, Chief Operating Officer at G4S Employment Services.
Shane Hughes, Paul Hill and Matthew Wood all spoke from the heart about what employment support had meant to them and how connections to GUAC members, working in partnerships locally, had turned their lives around and got them into meaningful employment with brighter futures.
GUAC members made even more connections on the night to employment services so the annual reception really signifies the start of another year in the growth and partnership development that personify the Give us a Chance consortium.
